Warren: ‘US Democrats are going to lose’ if they don’t deliver more before election

Sen. Elizabeth Ann Warren, D-Massachusetts, warned on Sunday that if important progressive concerns like student loan debt cancellation aren’t addressed in the next months, “Democrats will lose” in the midterm elections.

The Democratic Senator reacts to President Joe Biden’s statement to donors that he will focus on accomplishments ahead of the November elections.

Warren replied to President Biden’s remarks at a Democratic National Committee event in Portland, Oregon, during her appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union.”

“But I admit to you, what I haven’t done — and the reason I’m getting out on the road again instead of dealing with the day-to-day emergencies in my office — is making the case of what we’ve done,” Biden told Democratic donors, “and the reason I’m getting out on the road again instead of dealing with the day-to-day emergencies in my office.”

Warren said Biden “deserves real credit,” but that talking about what Democrats have accomplished is “not enough.”

“The election is less than 200 days away, and American families are hurting,” Warren added.

“I think we’ll be in real trouble if we don’t get up and deliver that,” she continued. “Democrats, in my opinion, will lose… Going forward, we need to continue fighting. There are things we were elected to do by the American people, and we still need to get out there and do them. If we do that, we’ll be fine for the elections.”

Warren went on to suggest that the Republican Party is fighting “cultural wars” because it lacks ideas on key matters such as the economy.

She went on to suggest that the Republican Party is fighting “cultural wars” because it lacks ideas on key matters such as the economy.

“That’s not going to help people in their lives, especially when we’re up against a party that only wants to fight culture wars,” she remarked. “They have no economic ideas besides inflicting hardship on American families and small businesses. That isn’t a good idea. They want power for themselves rather than to help the people of America.”
