Report: 31 shot Friday into Sunday morning in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s Chicago

Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago had 31 shootings from Friday night to Sunday morning, four of which resulted in fatalities.

The ABC 7/Chicago  Sun-Times states that a 24-year-old woman was shot and died “in the 2200 block of South Wentworth Avenue” around 10:50 p.m. on Friday, marking the first shooting death of the weekend.

Two gunmen were shooting at each other when the victim was caught in the crossfire.

A 30-year-old male was shot in the head and killed several hours later, at 12:20 a.m. on Saturday, “in the 9000 block of South Escanaba Avenue.”

A 35-year-old man was shot while inside a vehicle “in the 3800 block of South Kedzie Avenue” around 3 a.m. on Sunday, in the third fatal shooting. Someone outside the car fired a shot into the man’s neck, and he was declared dead there and then.

At least 11 people were shot and two were stabbed in Chicago on Monday alone, according to Breitbart News.

As per The Sun-Times, 317 individuals died in Chicago between January 1, 2022, and July 2, 2022.
