Police: 80-year-old Michigan man shoots intruder dead

According to Flint Township police, an 80-year-old man shot and killed a suspect who broke into his West Bristol Roadhouse on Thursday night, April 21, at about 8:45 p.m., police were summoned to the 1000 block of West Bristol Road for a report of a gunshot.

As per the authorities, a 31-year-old male broke into the house and was accosted by the 80-year-old homeowner.

According to authorities, the invader was also armed.

The homeowner was released following the incident, according to police, pending further investigation.

The Michigan State Police, Genesee County Sheriff’s Office, Burton Police Department, Genesee County Metro Police Authority, and the City of Flint Police Department all aided Flint Township Police.

According to the Flint Township Police Department, the elderly man fired at least one bullet, the invader died as a result of his injuries.

The 80-year-old man was taken into jail by the police, but he was released on Friday as the investigation continued, according to the report.

The incident is still being investigated by the police.
