Michael Cohen, ex-attorney for former President Donald Trump said he believes the once head of the executive branch will turn on family members if under intense investigation, according to The Hill.
Cohen made his comments on Joy Reid on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut,” after news that the New York attorney general was investigating the Trump Organization in a “criminal capacity” as well as a “civil capacity.”
“I think Donald Trump is going to flip on all of them. What do you think about that? Including his children,” Cohen told host Joy Reid on MSNBC’s “The ReidOut.”
According to Cohen, Trump’s “problem” is that “it’s never ever Donald Trump. It’s always somebody else.
“He’s gonna say Don Jr. handled that, Ivanka handled that, Melania, don’t take me, take Melania, he’s going to tell them to take everyone except for himself. That’s just the kind of guy he is,” Cohen added, clarifying upon questioning that “even Ivanka” could fall under suspicion.
Cohen has himself gotten into more than a little hot water due to some of his own shady dealings, and he was quick to part ways with the former president.
According to CNN’s report, New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) announced on Tuesday that it’s looking into the personal taxes of Allen Weisselberg who is an executive and chief financial officer for the Trump organization.
“Allen Weisselberg knew every single dollar in, and every single dollar — not even dollar, to the penny. Every single penny in and every penny out went through Allen Weisselberg’s desk, and then reported, before and after, to Donald J. Trump,” Cohen said.
Cohen clearly doesn’t have a very positive view of the former president, and it’s playing well with the Democratic leadership of New York’s apparent plan to take their pound of flesh out of the Republican firehouse in whatever way they can get it.
