No one expects Kamala Harris to be around in 2024, and apparently, it’s a sore subject with her.
So when she was asked point-blank about the talk, she reacted defensively.
The Hill reports:
“Vice President Harris said in an interview broadcast Thursday morning that she doesn’t care about questions regarding the presidential ticket for the 2024 election, calling them “gossip.”
“I’m sorry … I mean honestly. I know why you’re asking the question because this is part of the punditry and the gossip around places like Washington, D.C.,” Harris said when asked by NBC’s Craig Melvin if Harris will be on the Democratic ticket in 2024.”
Melvin also asked about suggestions that President Biden should team up with Rep. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) for a bipartisan presidential ticket in 2024, which stemmed from a column in The New York Times earlier this week by Thomas Friedman.
Harris said she didn’t read the article, adding, “I really could care less about the high-class gossip on these issues.”
I’m guessing that Harris does care more than she lets on. But with approval ratings as low as hers, it really doesn’t matter what she thinks or doesn’t think.
