Joe Manchin admits it – he’s considered leaving the Democrat party

Joe Manchin isn’t the most popular man in the Democrat party right now – at least among Democrats. Among Republicans, it’s a different story.

Manchin has taken stands against the radical Democrat agenda – most notably for the filibuster and against the 3.5 trillion dollar infrastructure bill. And yesterday, reports indicated that he was considering leaving the party altogether.

Manchin’s office quickly denied that, but today, he sounded a different tune.

MSN reports:

U.S. Senator Joe Manchin, a centrist and a stumbling block to Democratic President Joe Biden’s ambitious social agenda, acknowledged on Thursday having discussed leaving the party if his Democratic colleagues considered his stance “an embarrassment.”

A day after dismissing as “bullshit” a Mother Jones report that he was considering it, Manchin told reporters he had discussed the possibility of becoming an independent “if I’m an embarrassment to my Democrat colleagues, my caucus, the president being the leader of the Democratic Party.”

This is a big step, and one that has to have majority leader Chuck Schumer on edge. If Manchin switches parties, Schumer loses his position and Mitch McConnell once again becomes majority leader.

Bernie Sanders and AOC take note – this is what happens when you attack your own.
