1) Joe Biden is sabotaging Kamala
Now reports are surfacing that Harris is facing continued isolation from the White House and other Democrats. The New York Times published an article on Thursday that posed the question of whether Harris is actually an afterthought to her party.
The piece begins with an account of President Biden meeting with Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.). Biden called on Harris not to provide advice or insight, but simply to pop in, say hello, and leave.
“While most presidents promise their vice presidents access and influence, at the end of the day, power and responsibility are not shared equally, and Mr. Biden does not always feel a need for input from Ms. Harris as he navigates some of his most important relationships,” writers Katie Rogers and Zolan Kanno-Youngs note.
2) Kim Potter has been found guilty of manslaughter
Former Minneapolis police officer Kim Potter has been found guilty of first- and second-degree manslaughter for shooting and killing 20-year-old Daunte Wright. Potter was heard on bodycam footage saying, “I’ll Tase you!”
“Taser! Taser! Taser!” she shouted.
However, instead of drawing a taser, she drew her firearm and shot Wright in the chest.
During the trial, prosecutors argued Potter “recklessly” handled her firearm. Her defense said she confused her firearm for her taser and was justified in using deadly force.
3) Bidenflation is the worst in 39 years
U.S. consumer prices rose 5.7% over the past year, the fastest pace in 39 years, as a surge in inflation confronts Americans with the holiday shopping season under way.
The 5.7% increase for overall inflation was the fastest 12-month gain since a 5.8% increase for the 12 months ending in July 1982.
Republicans contend that the sizable gains in inflation are evidence that President Joe Biden’s economic policies are not working and are actually harming Americans whose incomes are not keeping up with rising prices.
