Democratic strategist embarrassed by Kamala Harris’ performance in Europe

Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance at joint news appearances in Poland and Romania “embarrassed” Democratic strategist Doug Schoen early Sunday.

“She not only fell short, but the laugh she got from her failure to say absolutely, we would do everything we can for the Ukrainian people to provide as much help as possible, unfortunately, means I have to agree with Monica.”

Monica Crowley, a former Assistant Secretary of the Treasury, described Harris’ behavior as “astonishing” and claimed she seemed to be in a “state of constant breakdown.” The vice president’s engagement in diplomatic matters, according to Crowley, is “catastrophic for our country and our partners.”

At a Polish press conference on Thursday, Harris laughed when asked how the US intended to help the stream of Ukrainian refugees to neighbor nations. “A friend in need is a friend indeed,” she said before erupting into laughter once more.

In a since-deleted tweet on Thursday, Iuliia Volodymyrivna Mendel, a former spokeswoman for Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated “it would be a disaster” if Harris were elected president.

She went on to tell CNN’s Alex Marquardt on Friday that the vice president’s chuckle was “inappropriate” and “a horrible experience” for Ukrainians.

Harris evaded a question about rising inflation and gas prices in the United States at a Romanian conference on Friday, instead of responding with a long remark about the Black Sea, the Mariupol maternity hospital bombing, and the need to support European allies.

During a Wednesday interview on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich blasted President Joe Biden’s administration for sending Harris on the diplomatic trip, calling her “shallow” and “knowing nothing.”
