Democrat US House candidate ends campaign after allegedly going on boozy tirade at a party

An Oklahoma Democrat who was widely chastised for reportedly verbally assaulting numerous pre-teen girls while at a friend’s house for a middle school overnight has dropped out of the race.

According to NonDoc.com, which originally reported the tale, Abby Broyles, a candidate for Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District, went to a friend’s house on Feb. 11 and got increasingly belligerent as she continued to drink throughout the night.

As per various people interviewed by the news site, Broyles allegedly insulted the girls attending the sleepover after growing intoxicated, saying one girl was an “acne f—ker” and hurling multiple slurs at other young females.

She allegedly called one girl a “Hispanic f—ker” and another a “judgy f–ker” at the sleepover. According to the allegation, Broyles also vomited into a laundry basket and a young girl’s sneaker.

Broyles’ campaign stated on Thursday that she is dropping her candidacy for Oklahoma’s 5th Congressional District, citing “gerrymandering,” “recent events,” and “salacious right-wing sensationalism,” among other reasons.

“The Republican legislature egregiously gerrymandered the new district shortly after Abby launched her run for CD-5, preventing any democrat from winning,” the press release reads.

“This fact, combined with recent events that transformed Abby into scandalous right-wing clickbait, has prompted the Broyles campaign to make this painful decision, and Abby to concentrate on her mental health,” the press continued.

“I made a mistake last month that I greatly regret,” Broyles added. “As I stated, while under the same roof as a bunch of young women who looked up to me, I mixed drink and a prescription I’d never taken before, and for that, I apologize from the bottom of my heart.”

“A mother I’ve never met went on Twitter and the news five days later to make claims that not only contradict my basic principles and views but are also wrongly accusing,” Broyles also added.

In-text conversations obtained by NonDoc.com, the owners of the property where the sleepover happened purportedly described and apologized for Broyles’ behavior.
