The US is evacuating another embassy – this time in Belarus, the country just north of Ukraine. The announcement comes as reports indicate that Belarus could join the invasion of Ukraine today or tomorrow.

While public opinion in the West is united against Putin, the facts on the ground are less encouraging. Putin has the troops, the allies and the close-in resources to finish the fight, and protests in the West won’t help Ukraine.
And while we talk a good game, the reality is that we’re pulling out, as the withdrawal from Belarus indicates.
